TOSIBOX® Lock 150 - Top FAQs Answered
The Tosibox Lock 150 has been discontinued, and replaced by the latest innovative technology that meets your requirements for secure, easy to use, remote access solutions.
TOSIBOX® Lock 150 is successor to the popular Lock 100 and holds CE certificate along with UL safety (cUL) and FCC for the United States, as well as ISED for Canada. The Lock 100 was the first commercial Tosibox product and has been on the market since 2012. Although the Lock 100 has come to End Of Life, the New Lock 150 meets the same price point, with a 60% upgrade in performance!
What are the most obvious applications for the Lock 150?
The new Lock 150 brings a simple solution to the industrial automation and building automation sectors to better manage and build remote IoT control operations. If you are responsible for machine functionality, maintenance, warranty period obligations and customer satisfaction, then the Lock 150 is ideal for you!
How is the Lock 150 set up? Will I also need a Key?
In order to create a TOSIBOX® remote connection, you always need at least one TOSIBOX® Lock (for the connected device) and one TOSIBOX® Key (for the user). Fortunately, LC Automation has Tosibox Lock 150 Starter Pack which include a Free programming key.
The key is physically matched by inserting the Key to the Lock’s USB port. During this process, the devices exchange their security certificates, after which they are ready to communicate with each other. Watch this video to learn more:
Which USB 4G modems can I use with the Lock 150?
In Europe and Australia, the Lock 150 supports the TOSIBOX® 4G Modem (TB4GM8EU and TB4GM2AU respectively).
In the United States, the TOSIBOX® Lock 150 supports the Multitech MTC-LNA4 4G modem (TB4GM5). Multitech 4G modem has AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon approvals to be used in their networks.
Can devices behind the Lock 150 use the Lock’s Internet connection – without being tunneled through the VPN?
Yes, devices behind the Lock 150 can access the Internet. Access can be allowed or blocked with a setting, and traffic can even be allowed for desired IP addresses only. This is a common functionality in all TOSIBOX® Locks, not just the Lock 150. This is so-called Split Tunneling VPN.
What makes the Lock 150 so secure?
TOSIBOX® Plug & Go™ technology is globally audited, patented and performs at the highest security levels in the industry. It’s not a cloud service, but a direct VPN tunnel between the physical devices. Only trusted devices can access the network.

What makes the Lock 150 so reliable?
There is always more than one way to connect a TOSIBOX® Lock to the Internet and ability to prioritize the method that is being used. The Lock 150 offers up to three connectivity options in one device. The Lock 150 has integrated WiFi as a connectivity method or an access point for wireless devices on site. The external LTE modem is optional, with several modem variants for global coverage. The TosiOnline™ feature further enhances the reliability by automatically reconnecting dropped connections or switching into another connection if the Lock has that available.
