Red Lion Launch Compact DIN-rail Gigabit Ethernet Switches
Red Lion have announced the expansion of their N-Tron series NT24k managed Gigabit Ethernet industrial switch platform with the addition of compact DIN-rail mountable switches.
The new all-Gigabit and Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) IEEE 802.3af/at switches deliver wire-speed performance in harsh environments where space may be limited.
Compact NT24k hardened metal housing provides industry-leading shock (200g) and vibration (50g) tolerance coupled with an up to -40° to 85°C operating temperature range to ensure optimal network performance in the harshest industrial environments.
Designed for industrial manufacturers, OEM machine builders and system integrators, the rugged NT24k platform is ideal for alternative energy, water/wastewater, transportation and intelligent traffic applications. The NT24k switches offer a full set of management features and advanced security to ease network deployment with key functionality, which includes auto-IGMP configuration, EtherNet/IPTM with CIPTM messaging, N-RingTM and N-LinkTM ring technology, N-ViewTM monitoring, event logging, SNTP and IEEE 802.1x with RADIUS remote server authentication.
Diane Davis, Director of Product Management - Ethernet Networking at Red Lion Controls, says; "With more organizations using Gigabit Ethernet for applications that range from the factory floor to extreme remote locations, our NT24k platform gives customers the ability to future-proof networks with an easy upgrade path. Our switches are easy to deploy yet powerful enough to meet a variety of industrial networking requirements, including wide environmental specifications, network monitoring and PoE capabilities.”
Red Lion N-Tron NT24k – the Ultimate in Networking.
As today's networks continue to grow and new applications demand more bandwidth, Red Lion's NT24k managed Gigabit Ethernet switches are well suited to deliver unsurpassed reliability and performance across many industrial environments. NT24k features include:
Hot-Swappable Modules
Networks are as dynamic as the applications where they are deployed. Today’s network infrastructures require hardware to grow and adapt as needs change. The all-Gigabit modular NT24k switches offer the industry’s highest level of flexibility with hot-swappable, auto-detecting modules. Ethernet, fiber and SFP options are available with Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to meet your needs today and tomorrow.
Rugged Industrial Design
NT24k switches perform best in critical industrial environments. Developed with industrial environments in mind, these switches have wide operating temperatures, UL Class I, Division 2 (Group A, B, C and D) listing and high tolerance to shock and vibration. With >2 million hour MTBF rating, the NT24k will perform reliably in any industrial environment.
Flexible Platform
We built the NT24k platform with the idea that no two networks are alike. NT24k switches are available in modular 1U rackmount chassis, a 2 or 3 bay modular DIN-rail enclosure or a compact DIN-rail configuration. Regardless of where these switches are mounted, they offer a variety of AC and DC power input options to meet varying requirements.
Reliable Performance
Network performance is paramount in today’s IP connected world. The NT24k platform helps address uptime needs with N-Ring™ technology that boasts 30ms recovery time for rings containing up to 250 switches. Pair ultra-fast healing time with fully managed Layer 2 functionality and you have a robust solution for all of your industrial networking needs.
Remote Monitoring & Control
Utilise N-View™ diagnostic and control software to remotely monitor your network. This easy-to-use software allows you to view real-time network statistics to help ensure your network is running at peak performance.
