So, What Can They Do?
Set up could not be easier (we'll explain that in a minute), and before you know it you are communicating from one part of the factory to another. Let's set the scene; you're running your equipment as normal, but suddenly there is a problem. It's important that the production manager knows about the problem as soon as possible, so they can help to sort out any issues. So, the WIO replicates the factory floor error signal and clearly displays it to the person it needs to.
The WIO series units acts as a base unit and you add signal tower LED modules as normal, but other beacons can also be connected. How your production information is communicated is totally up to you - for example a red LED module on the signal tower could also light a spinning, flashing beacon or an audible voice message could sound. Whatever you decide works best, Patlite's got it.
How Do They Work?
It's effortless. To pair your transmitter and receiver, all you need to do is turn them on! The transmitter module will light up and flash blue until the receiver is on and they both turn green, which indicates a successful pair. Now, the status of remotely located machinery can be visualised from the office side, or from further down the factory floor. It makes it easy to call up the person in charge without wiring and effort.
Communication Status
These clever units can also communicate their own status with different colours. Firstly, they have an 'answer back' function, meaning the blue light will turn on (the same as when we were pairing them) when the signal is received. When not mirroring, the units will be green when the connection is good, yellow for unstable and a pink transmitter with red relays / receivers when it's disconnected. Your operation will never be dull again!
No PC or Software Needed
Reliable wireless communication with Bluetooth long range wireless gives you coverage of up to 100 metres in line of sight, and you can use up to 3 receivers to act as a relay to extend the communication distance up to 400m. If you stack them all with signal tower modules, they will all communicate the same message, so everyone along the way knows what's going on. It is a win win.
Easy to Setup
You can easily configure settings with the main units setting switch...
- Group ID Configuration: Operate up to 8 groups within the same area
- Level Mode: Synchronise the receiver or relay's On/Off input with the transmitter's On/Off input
- Input Logic Switching: Selectable between A Contact Input / B Contact Input
- One-Shot Mode: Set the receivers output hold time (output hold / 12 second output)
