New Time-of-Flight Camera from Schmersal is Here to Empower Your Automation Application!
Schmersal's AM-T100 provides millimetre-precise 3D depth images for process optimisation in logistics and production.
For the first time in automation history, Schmersal have presented their groundbreaking 3D camera - the AM-T100 - for collecting digital process data in real-time for automation. This Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera utilises a Sony DepthSense™ sensor to generate precise 3D depth images. It operates by measuring the runtime of infrared light pulses (at 850 Nm) reflected off objects, allowing for rapid creation of highly accurate 3D images in the form of a point cloud.
What's It All About?
The AM-T100 camera boasts a high image rate of up to 60 frames per second, making it perfect for use in your industrial manufacturing, logistics, or robotics application. It can handle many of your everyday tasks such as packaging assistance, box filling, stacking, volume detection, and labelling, all aimed at enhancing your process efficiency and accuracy.
This camera can not only peer inside your containers or large load carriers and gauge their fill level accurately, but also aids in determining the volume of general cargo and provides an overhead view of staging areas in production, assembly, storage, and order picking processes. Additionally, it can capture dimensions and surface quality.
Equipped with high-performance infrared (IR) illumination and a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, the AM-T100 offers a visual range of 67° x 51° up to 6 meters away. The image data can be accessed through the standard GenICam data interface and edited using common image processing software. Its Ethernet interface ensures fast and comprehensive data transmission, along with optional 24 V power supply via Power over Ethernet.
The camera comes with pre-installed CONSAM-T configuration software, allowing users to define and monitor complex 3D zones. It can trigger digital outputs upon detecting objects within these zones and switch between different zones using digital inputs. Additionally, an integrated SDK supports software developers and system integrators in configuring the software and creating applications.
Configuration Software: CONSAM-T
The configuration software CONSAM-T is pre-installed on the AM-T100. With the help of this software, the camera can be configured to monitor complex 3D zones. If objects enter these zones, digital outputs
are switched.
In addition, digital inputs can be used to switch back and forth between different 3D zones so that complex sequences and processes can be monitored.
