Finders' Opta Programmable Logic Relay is a new option for engineers and designers who want to add smart logic to a simple control cabinet, machine, industrial automation or building automation project.
A Simple Solution for Simple Applications
Opta is a range of programmable logic relays (PLR) which don't have the advanced features or specification of a PLC, but can be used to create simple applications in industrial automation, OEM, and especially building automation projects.
For Opta, Finder has partnered with Arduino Pro, to leverage their open-source, easy-to-use software platform, in addition to the widely known Arduino sketch programming experience, integrating an optional suite of standard IEC 61131-3 PLC languages, such as LADDER, FBD, etc.
Made in Italy by Finder, CE and UL certified and designed for industrial grade applications, Opta combines the brands' 70 years of experience, quality and reliability with the Arduino's flexibility and innovative approach, in this new device.
Uniquely Powerful, Connected and Easy to Program
Opta is powered by ST's new micro-controller, which enables the PLR to perform real-time operations as well as predictive maintenance functionalities. It is ready for the future, as it supports OTA (over the air) firmware updates while ensuring data security from the hardware to the Cloud, thanks to the onboard secure element and X.509 Standard compliance.
3 Versions for a Range of Applications
To suit a range of different applications, Finder Opta is available in three versions:
- Opta LITE with Ethernet IP connectivity and USB programming port
- Opta PLUS which adds a RS485 half duplex connectivity interface
- Opta ADVANCED, the most innovative and complete option, featuring Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy
All three variants feature 12-24V DC supply, 8 digital/analog inputs as well as 4 relay outputs with N/O 10 A contact, USB for programming and data logging and RJ45 for Ethernet or ModBus TCP/IP connections.
Making Industrial Automation Easier
That makes the OPTA suitable for a range of different applications thanks to the device's power, connectivity options, and the easy to use programming. It is also compatible with other existing Finder devices. Energy meters, contactors, relays and many other devices can be connected to Opta, keeping everything under control locally via HMI or remotely, thanks to real-time dashboards which can be created with the intuitive Arduino Cloud (or other third party services).
