IP69K Safety Light Curtains for Washdown Areas in the Food and Beverage Industry
Schmersal has developed the SLC/SLG series of safety light curtains and light grids, which have IP69K protection rating and are robust enough for use in hygiene-sensitive areas, such as the food industry, pharmaceuticals or meat and milk processing.
Due to their well-thought-out design, these Schmersal light curtains have an IP69K protection rating and meet the highest requirements for withstanding frequent cleaning with water, alkalis, foam and superheated steam - even at high pressure.

The sealing caps, cable entry and mounting parts are all made of stainless steel while the transparent protective tube is made of polycarbonate. This has a high detergent resistance and withstands high mechanical loads, such as the accidental impact of high-pressure cleaning lances or even a collision with pallet trucks. The robust protective tube ensures the safety and protection function is unaffected.
Schmersal Safety Light Curtains Now Include BlueTooth as Standard 
High quality materials are robust build ensures a higher availability and long service life of the safety light curtains and light grids and also allows a compact design of the encapsulated safety sensors: The diameter of the protective tube is only 50 mm. The material resistance of these components was also confirmed by the independent testing laboratory Ecolab.
Additional features of this BWS series include; double acknowledgment, contactor control and integrated beam suppression, which allows moving parts to be fed through the protective field without triggering the stop signal. Another practical function is the clogging indicator. If the received signal of the sensor becomes weaker, a visual warning message allows the user to intervene before unplanned plant stops occur.
