Mitsubishi Electric Launches a GOT2000 HMI for Your Extreme Environments

HMIs have been used in factory environments for many years; however growing demand for automation outside the factory means HMIs are expected to operate in harsher, more demanding applications. To address these needs Mitsubishi Electric has added a new rugged variant to their GOT2000 range.

The GOT2507T-WTSD is a 7” HMI with an extended operating temperature range of -20°C to +65°C, and IP67F/IP66F protection ratings, so it can be cleaned with high pressure washers without additional protection. It is a perfect fit for food & beverage and utility industries.

Extended Operating Temperature Range

Standard HMIs typically feature an operating temperature range from 0°C to 55°C, but the expanded temperature range of the GOT2507T-WTSD means it can be used in harsher environments without the need for heaters or fans. This can significantly reduce operating costs for food and beverage manufacturers and power industry applications, as well as offering more flexibility for use in extreme temperatures.

Mitsubishi Electric’s HMIs are now being used in outdoor applications such as car washes and EV charge points, which require brighter displays and better tolerance to long-term UV light exposure. The GT2507T-WTSD HMI is more than twice as bright as standard HMIs and carefully chosen coating materials reduce glare and won’t degrade when exposed to sunlight. The structure of the front panel has also been reinforced with a metal housing, allowing this rugged model to be used in environments that are subject to shock or vibration.

Network Connectivity as Standard

Along with the increased strength and durability, users benefit from the high performance features of the existing GOT2000 range. These include multiple communication interfaces, comprising of 2 Ethernet ports, wireless LAN interface, USB, RS232 and RS422/485 ports. A programmable text-to-speech audio output reinforces the information displayed on the screen and Mitsubishi Electric’s web server provides real-time machine visualisation using remote devices such as tablets, smartphones and PCs. All of these functions help improve productivity and reduce the total cost of ownership for machinery.

Mitsubishi HMIs are already widely used in traditional manufacturing industries, but the GOT2507T-WTSD is suitable for a much wider range of applications such as heavy machinery, parking systems, power conditioners, EV charging stands and utility industries.

Thinking About Migrating from the Old E1000 HMI? We Can Help With That…

If you have been happily using E1000 HMI's for many years, you will probably want to know why you should migrate from the E1000 series to GOT2000. You can also download the Mitsubishi Electric migration guide (on the right) which outlines which is the closest alternative to the E1000 models you usually use and shows where the GOT2000 can offer improved performance and better features than the E1000.

If you would like more information about this rugged new HMI, or how we can help you to migrate to the GOT2000 series HMI, give us a call on 01254 685900 or e-mail sales@lca.co.uk and we'll be happy to help.
